Often appointment of a politically non-aligned person as the head of universities can help them to improve. However, the above action is very political and cannot be done without blessings of the leaders of major political parties. This is the shadow of the Dadaist attitude of political parties. Party affiliations of student unions is also another plague in the mal functioning of institutions such as TU.

Students who came to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the name of higher education have been reported cheated. Students realized they were cheated for being placed in a rented common room or flat in the UAE that looked like private tuition center. According to the news, the Ministry has started an investigation saying that some consulting companies of Nepal may also have invested in such an organization.
Yes, the Ministry of Education has the duty to investigate and bring the culprit to justice on the matter. However, it is also the responsibility of the concerned student and their parents to make sure that it’s a genuine organization. In fact, even the concerned Education Consultancy may not be fully aware of the status of the host institution abroad. Government should have a mechanism to check its authenticity through a list of accredited institutions in the concerned country – at least in those ones where there is Nepal’s residential embassy. Students’ go anywhere on their will and holding the government accountable all the time is also not fair.
